Merrittville Releases Action-packed 2010 Schedule
Mark Robinson has consolidated his position at the top of the Roosters Cup V8 Dirt Modified Series standings with victory in Round Three at Toowoomba's Charlton Speedway on Saturday night (Mar 13).

After securing top qualifier honours at the completion of the preliminary heat races, a top-eight inversion would see Robinson charge from the fourth row to claim victory with just one round of the Series remaining.

The Teo's on fire said an elated Robinson post-race. We could run the top or run the bottom, we were just lucky some of the other cars were a bit loser than we were
I knew he (Clark) was running up high so I just kept on running down low, giving him plenty of room, not trying to wash out on him. I just love racing like that when ones on the bottom, ones on the top, it really showcases our division

After two failed attempts at completing the opening lap, it was pole sitter David Clark who held down top spot in the early running, with Gary Wathen & Tony Sneddon both within striking distance. ...... Read Full Article

QUANTUM CHILL COOL SHIRT SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE FROM QUANTUM RACING INDUSTRIES

The days of makeshift cooler clothing are behind us with the launch of ‘Cool Shirts’ in Australia by husband and wife team Simone and Scott Cooper of Quantum Racing Industries.

The range of temperature-controlled clothing, which the Coopers will distribute under the name Quantum Chill, has just arrived in Australia from the US.

“When you perspire, half of your blood moves to the skin to produce perspiration to naturally cool the body. This means the rest of your organs, including the brain and your muscles, are operating on half the blood they normally get" Scott said.

“What this means when you are driving a race car, is that the drivers fatigue and their decision-making is affected, which of course is critical when you are going fast.”

The shirts are designed to maintain, or quickly return core body temperatures to normal levels. They have an internal pump unit that contains ice and water, which travels to the shirt through a connecter hose.

“Every one of our systems is temperature controlled so that the driver doesn’t get too cold,” Scott said.

“This allows faster, more efficient maintenance of the body’s optimum core temperature, therefore preventing heat fatigue and heat stroke.

The most popular product from the range is the Hans-Friendly, compact Club 12 System, weighing just over 1kg. The system contains more than 50 feet of medical grade capillary tubing securely stitched on the front and back of the shirt and has four cooling zones. The shirt can be worn comfortably for long periods of time and is suitable for road racing, circle tracks and drags.
