Steve Paine took a tumble at the Georgetown Speedway Thursday evening, but bounced back for his second win of the season Saturday night at Canandaigua Speedway. Paine snagged the lead from race leader Matt Sheppard on lap-27 and sailed to the $1,500 victory on Honeoye Auto Parts Night at the Races. |

The ‘Americanisation’ of V8 Dirt Modified racing will continue next season, with confirmation that American driver Jimmy Phelps will journey to our shores in January for a whistlestop two-race tour. Phelps, a factory ‘Troyer’ driver in his native upstate New York, currently sits fifth on the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series standings, and is widely regarded as one of the most consistent drivers on the US tour. |

The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds were not on the original Canandaigua Speedway schedule for Saturday, July 5th. However, with the help from Empire Seneca the Big-Blocks were brought in for the 36-lap Mid-Summer Special paying $2,008 to the winner. At the end of the night current point leader Gary Tomkins stood alone at the top of the heap, returning to victory lane for the third time this season on Army National Guard “America Night” presented by Dash Racewear. |
