Luke Oldfield will be looking to successfully defend his Queensland V8 Dirt Modified Title when the 2010 event is staged at the Maryborough Speedway this Saturday night (Feb 6). The KRE Race Engines Queensland Championship is being staged at the Maryborough venue for the very first time and has attracted a 24-car field.
Peter Britten has two Australian Championships to his name but is yet to taste success in the Queensland Title, although he did finish on the podium (2nd) in last season's event. After a win in the Modified Masters in Lismore recently, Britten comes to Maryborough as the form driver in the field.
Mark Robinson, David Clark, Andrew Pezzutti, Jai Stephenson & Ray Klarich are just a few of the drivers who are in contention this weekend for what is the final appearance of the season for V8 Dirt Modifieds in Maryborough.
In a fitting tribute, Rian Collier & signwriter Rick Dryden (Dryden Signs)have organised a sticker in memory of Max Trotter to be carried by each car on Saturday night. Cars will also run with white ribbons.
The full field in the KRE Race Engines Queensland Championship is:-
Peter Britten Keith Muller David Clark Mark Robinson Kevin Britten Garry Wathen Luke Oldfield Ray Eggins Andrew Pezzutti Allan Jarvis Jim Mee Brett Whitney Phil McNamara Jai Stephenson Nev Robertson Rian Collier Paul Booker Brian Scott Mick Sauer Darren Latimer Maurice Yardley Murray Flay Ray Klarich Kelvin Hamilton
